From Twelve12 Hospitality, the ownership group of Crafty Cow in Oconomowoc, comes Bumstead Provisions, a new shopping, dining and bar experience in Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood. Bumstead will revive the classic small town general store aesthetic while serving the most popular craft brews and a unique dining experience akin to deli-meets-bistro. Diners will enjoy a rustic atmosphere and opportunities to dine and drink while they shop. The small grocery will feature an eclectic mix of spreads, oils, sauces, chocolates and more while the deli will serve up some of the finest meats and cheeses in the area.
Owners Devin Eichler and Mike Bodow chose Bay View after doing extensive market research. “The Bay View neighborhood just has this vibe, it just feels right” said Mr. Bodow. Mr. Eichler added “Oconomowoc has been incredible, the town has embraced Crafty Cow above and beyond all expectations. What we’re hoping for in Bay View is similar excitement for this very new, very different concept.”
To execute their vision, Twelve12 has hired Braatz Building, the builders of Lulu Café and Goodkind in Milwaukee. Mr. Eichler and Mr. Bodow have also decided to utilize designer Libby Castro and her world renowned LP/w Design Studios. LP/w is responsible for creating the phenomenal interiors of C. 1880 and Vanguard, both of Milwaukee.
Bumstead Provisions is expected to open in early September and will feature seasonal fare including sandwiches, small plates, entrees and beverages. Corporate Executive Chef Allen Andrews is working with Mr. Eichler and Mr. Bodow to create a unique dining experience. “Bumstead Provisions is going to focus on artisan sandwiches and small plates. But also as a place you can pick up all of your amazing deli meats, cheeses, spreads and bread for dinner or before Packers games on Sunday” said Mr. Andrews. Andrews was also sure to point out that Bumstead Provisions will always work hard to source locally and represent Wisconsin craft beer and food.
Thanks to the help of Alderman Tony Zielinski, Twelve12 is being welcomed into the Bay View neighborhood with open arms. Alderman Zielinski has been instrumental in the process of Bumstead Provisions’ business entering his district.
Located in the former Re: Threads and hardware store buildings – 2671 and 2675 S. Kinnickinnic respectively, Bumstead Provisions proposes to be open from 11 AM to 11 PM Sunday through Thursday and 11 AM to 1 AM Friday and Saturday.
