Key worker recruitment & info event this Thursday
Interested individuals can attend an informational and worker recruitment event taking place this coming Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 8 a.m. to noon at WRTP/BIG STEP, 3841 W. Wisconsin Ave. This event will provide information on the Milwaukee Streetcar project and other upcoming construction projects, training opportunities, and career pathways into the building trades. Pre-registration at (414) 342-9787 is required to attend, and those registered must bring key items/documents and meet requirements.
Representatives from Kiewit Corp, the city’s streetcar construction contractor, will be on hand to share information about the project and the skills and experience they will be looking for in the workers they will be likely hiring for construction activities. City of Milwaukee Residents Preference Program (RPP) candidates are strongly encouraged to attend, as the Milwaukee Streetcar project is the first of its kind in the U.S. to feature an RPP hiring component.
Candidates must bring these documents to attend:
Valid Driver’s License (or Documentation in process)
Proof of High School Graduation
Social Security Card Updated Resume
Pass General Assessment of 6th grade Math and Reading level
Drug Free (Ability to pass a drug screen)
