Last night was the neighborhood meeting regarding the Annual Frolics Festival at South Shore Park. The overwhelming majority of people in attendance felt there was a noticeable improvement in the event. It was more family friendly, and with less disruptions than in the past. We still have a ways to go and we will be continually working to improve the event.
At the same time, though, there was a strong majority that felt the fireworks were too loud. So we will be meeting with some individual neighbors to work on that issue. One option is to eliminate the ground fireworks which are the loudest by far. That is also known as the “Blow Up the Beach Event.”
It is important to note that the Lions Club work tirelessly to put on this weekend event along with the South Shore Frolics Parade (which everyone enjoys). But if not for the Lions Club, we would not have the Frolics Parade.
